Sweet! I have a set of these wheels but they will most probaly go on my 01 Vic. If I do a 5 bolt conversion I plan on figuring out if the later (2006+) p71 wheels will fit due to them having a higher offset. And the fact they are 17's helps too.

I'm suprised that no one has mentioned the awful hydraulic clutch setup on this car. When the last owner popped in the 302, all that he had was a 4 speed that was set up for hydraulics and that was the way he 'made it work'.. it works, but barely. I have a T5, Centerforce dual friction, FMS flywheel and Steeda clutch cable/quadrant ready for when I pull the engine for a re-gasket and paint.

I'll update this thread with a few pics.
The old..
and the new!!
4.
5 and discs.
This... I could not believe my eyes. The original owner ran 10 second quarters with a built 351 but apparently he spent all of his $$ on the motor and had none left for suspension.
2X4's used as travel limiters..
With that all sorted out it was time for a test drive.

Instant improvement!!
I just read over the whole thread and I have to say well done to this point. I am a very big fan of those wheels on your car. Very jealous of your build right now and wish that mine was running...
Good luck with the rest of the improvements and keep the pics coming

Here's the last pictures I took in fall.
I guess I forgot to put the center caps on the rear wheels for these pics. I have them and they clean it up really nicely.
Not much progress of late, I've been snowmobiling too much! lol
Mine is the black one in the foreground. It's a 2006 Yamaha Apex RTX.
It's what we do around here on evenings and weekends.

Thanks Danny! I think that once the car is painted next year, the wheels will pop even more. I'm debating black with an 84' RS like lower stripe satin Black and the double gold pinstripe dividing the two. Or Midnight Blue Metallic with the same 84' RS lower stripe in Satin Black w/ gold double pin. Or just as it is tu-tone repainted.. I'm really undecided.

Just a quick update guys. I've been snowmobiling a little too much this winter! (To do any work on my Capri, but I have bought some parts!) lol
QFT HR680VS, with vacuum secondary for drivability, and an Air Gap. Hopefully have it on within the week. Need a new pump too.
Question. Can I run an MSD 6AL as a stand alone ignition and rid myself of the Duraspark? There's such a tangle of wires as it is.

You're going to have to cut a hole in the hood of your snowmobile to fit that on there.

I made a little progress with my motor situation today.
Do you see what I see? =)
Yup, '96 Explorer 5.0
The good and the bad. The flash magnifies the coloration on the exhaust valves, the heads actually look really great!! They'll be going to a shop in Saskatoon for a shave some new curls (getting the deck milled and new springs installed...)
The cylinders still showed cross-hatching.
The bad is that the Explorer that it came out of was a multiple roll accident which resulted in 3 of 4 engine mount tabs breaking free from the block. The block is useless.
I do have the 302 that is currently in the car, so my plan is to pull it and see what I have to work with there. I'll most likely buy an Anderson N21 and use the roller bits (or maybe the whole of the internals) from the GT40 motor to convert the original block, depending on what I find when that one is opened up.

I put the same carb on my 82 and have been having some issues. Thinking it may be slightly too much carb for it. What will the air gap do?
What are you plan for the heads? New valves and springs then swap the roller items out, slap them on and go?
I hear you with spending so much tme playing in the snow. Last winter was real long and lots of snow here too! It looks a little easier to get "out there" to sled than for me in the city (wait, I don't have a sled and worked on cars half the winter in the garage).
Oh, and I like the rims too.
Thanks 82GT, Kelvin's in Saskatoon did the exceptional wheel work.
the Airgap that I was talking about is the Edelbrock intake underneath the carb in this pic. I'm hoping that with a good cam, the intake, the GT40 heads and full length headers that I wont be over-carbed.
I also ordered Crane Cams #44308-1 beehive springs for the GT40's. They go into Saskatoon for a facing and new seals and springs next week. I'm not sure which rocker arms that I should pick up, though. Anyone have recommendations? I'll stick with 1.6 ratio.

Hey Duey782 what did you end up doing about the front wheel fitment? Did not see an answer in the thread. Did you figure out to make HPP wheel work or did you pick up a set of Lincolns? Also are you on Fbook?
