Default 82 Capri saved from the crusher, 27k miles, a few pics *DUW*

Hey guys, my brother and I were just walking through the local junkyard up here , a small mom 'n pop place, and we were asking the owner if they had any Mustangs around. Low and behold, he was like, yea I got this old "Capri car" on the other side of the yard.

So we check it out, and damn if this thing isn't pretty straight! I look at the interior and think, man it's pretty nice. Dirty, but nice. The odometer says 27k, and I think it's correct. It hasn't been registered since 2003. The windows were left rolled down for 5 years, ouch!

We gave the guy $500 bux and towed it home and started cleaning. A battery and some new tires are all she needed to get her running! And she runs great! Even came with a full tank of gas LOL.

So far we've only gotten the suspension back together, the 10-holes on, and the interior steam cleaned and detailed. Plans for the car are a roller motor, carb, intake, T5, turbocoupe 8.8, and 87-93 brakes. Just a driver!

The yard had sold the passenger side spindle a few years back:

There was peet moss all over the car!

    More moss ewww:

    Lots of muck everywhere:

    All washed up:

With the 10 holes on it:

My brother disassembling the interior for steam cleaning:

    The odometer:

    The carpet was pretty dirty...

    The floors look great:

My brother steam cleaning the carpets:

The interior back in the car ready for a drive:

This weekend we're going to be installing 03 Cobra a-arms, 87-93 V8 spindles, 73mm calipers, SVO master cylinder, and a turbocoupe rearend. I'll post back up when the work has been completed.

I agree, that thing is sweet! I like the color combo as well. But what motor is in the it? Whatever motor it has it came with A/C....
If you blink at the end of the straight away you'll miss the twisties and what fun would that be!

By the way that's me doing all the hard work and scrubbing while bro takes pictures. I can't believe how well that thing turned out it's simply beautiful. A little simple green and some hard work goes a long way.

Good grief. What an awesome snag!

Such a beautiful car to just be crushed! What a shame that would have been.

    Again, KUDOS!

Holy cow, what a transformation just from a good clean up! I'm actually really enjoying seeing the 'less popular' colors from the era showing up. Love that interior.

Nice to see another family combo around here. We seem to have a lot of that.

Yeah, no kidding. That car is awesome. Definitely something you will NEVER see a duplicate of. Everybody wants triple black cars or something boring.

The SN95 a-arms will give the car a wider track in the front, which will be a better match to the turbocoupe rear end that is going in the car (3/4" wider per side). Additionally, the fresh bushings and balljoints are a plus, and we had them laying around from a previous project.

I'm a little late to the party, but I must chime in with a repeated theme: Awesome save! The clean-up is absolutely remarkable? How many hours did you and your brother invest?

Oh, and thanks for the great photos as well.
